Special Procedures Technologist – Days

Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Special Procedures Technologist to join our imaging team. This is a full-time day-shift opportunity for a Radiologic Technologist who is interested in performing specialized imaging procedures in a hospital/healthcare setting.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
Schedule
- Full-Time: 80 hours biweekly
- Monday–Friday
- On-call rotation as scheduled
- Day-shift position
Key Responsibilities
Special Procedures & Imaging
- Perform Special Procedures examinations according to established protocols and department standards.
- Select appropriate technical factors based on the patient’s body habitus, clinical condition, pathology, and examination being performed.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images that are properly positioned, processed, and suitable for interpretation.
- Ensure imaging equipment and supplies are used appropriately and safely.
- Follow established radiation safety and patient safety procedures.
- Assist physicians and the healthcare team during special procedures as required.
- Maintain a high level of technical accuracy while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Participate in the department’s scheduled on-call rotation.
Patient Care & Team Collaboration
- Provide professional, compassionate care to patients throughout the imaging procedure.
- Explain procedures clearly and respond appropriately to patient questions and concerns.
- Maintain professionalism when interacting with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, and coworkers.
- Work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Professional Development & Quality
- Maintain required credentials and certifications.
- Participate in continuing education, training programs, and departmental in-services.
- Follow organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain a professional working environment focused on patient safety and service excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Completion of an approved AMA-accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- South Carolina Radiologic Technologist license
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- ARRT certification within 6 months of hire
- Strong technical and patient-care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to participate in the required on-call rotation
